Antique '1881' Heavy Old Cut Diamond Buckle 18ct Gold Ring Band

This remarkable antique buckle ring dates back to 1881 and features a chunky band made of rich 18ct gold. It is complemented by a beautiful chunky 0.25ct old-cut diamond elegantly set at the center.

Buckle rings were given in the Victorian era as a token of love or friendship. Belt and Buckle motif jewellery symbolised that the giver and recipient were as well matched as a belt and its buckle. They also represented eternity, fidelity/loyalty, strength and protection.

This buckle ring is an excellent example, featuring a smooth band with buckle belt detailing. It also has a full set of hallmarks, including the Birmingham assay office, dating this piece to 1881.

If you require ring sizing, please get in touch. Most of our rings can be sized. This usually takes 7 days. We charge a small fee of £45 for standard sizing. Sizing of 3 sizes or more may be subject to an additional cost.

Please note items that have been sized or customised are not eligible for a return.

We gladly accept layaway on all items in our shop. 
All pieces may be reserved with a 20% non-refundable deposit. 
After the deposit is made, you then have 2-4 months to complete the outstanding balance at your own convenience without any pressure from us. 
We usually ask items under £250 to be paid within 2 months and any items over £250 to be paid within 3-4 months. But this can be discussed to suit you. 
If a layaway is cancelled, the deposit amount is non-refundable. You are only eligible for shop credit if a layaway item is returned.
