These fabulous Antique Cut Steel Earrings started life as a pair of buttons and we have carefully had them converted to make a pair of earrings. The earrings have beautiful facets with 8 tassel drops and the earrings hang on Sterling silver ear wires.
Cut steel jewellery was at the height of fashion from the mid 1700s well into the 19th century. This glittering jewellery innovation originated in the 1700s. To make cut steel, melted horseshoe nails were formed into tiny faceted beads. Those small steel gemstone-like studs were then riveted one-by-one onto a base plate.
These earrings are a rare find which would make a lovely gift for any antique jewellery lover or a great addition to any collection.

They are in great condition with no major wear to them and feature lovely tassel drops that subtlety vary in length. These would make a perfect addition to anyones collection or make a great gift!

If you require a ring sizing, please get in touch. Most of our rings can be sized. This usually takes 7 days. We charge a small fee of £30 for standard sizing, sizing of 3 sizes or more may be subject to an additional cost.

Antiques are usually exempt from import duties, however we cannot be responsible for any duties applied by your country’s customs office. Customs, duties, fees and any import taxes are the responsibility of buyer, as are any return shipping costs.

We gladly accept layaway on all items in our shop.
All pieces may be reserved with a 20% non-refundable deposit.
After the deposit is made you then have 2-4 months to complete the outstanding balance at your own convenience without any pressure from us.
We usually ask items under £250 are paid within 2 months and any items over £250 are to be paid within 3-4 months. But this can be discussed to suit you.
If a layaway is cancelled the deposit amount is non-refundable. If a layaway item is returned you are only eligible for shop credit.
We do also have Klarna set up on our website for UK customers to ‘Buy now and Pay later’ along side an option of Paypal credit within the Paypal checkout option. It is up to Klarna or paypal if they approve the credit agreement, once agreed and approved your item will be sent to you the same or next working day as normal.
