Antique Victorian Saphiret and Paste Round Brooch Pin | Cabochon Saphiret c.1900


This rare Antique Victorian Saphiret brooch dates to circa.1900 and features a central Saphiret stone, surrounded by Paste stones, set in metal.

The colours in the Saphiret stones are stunning, shimmering and changing between blue and pink in the light.

Saphiret is an early glass used in jewellery made by adding melted Gold to Sapphire coloured glass. It was created during the late 1800s to mid 1900s.

Paste is a special type of hand cut glass which has been used since the 18th century to replicate gemstones.

This is a beautiful brooch which looks fabulous when worn and would make a great addition to any collection.

Two of the Paste stones appears to have been re-glued back into place.
