This quality Antique Albert Chain features a T-bar pendant with a dog clip and bolt ring fastening, measuring 14.5" in length, modelled in solid 9ct Gold.
Each component and link is fully hallmarked with either '375' and '9' for 9ct Gold. The T bar is also marked with the makers mark 'F.F&Co' and the anchor for Birmingham.
The T-bar on this chain is fully detachable allowing it to be worn as a pendant or without the T-bar all together.
An albert chain is a decorative chain, originally used to attach a pocket watch to the wearer's clothing. The chain was named after Prince Albert, who was said to have been fond of wearing watch chains. The Dog clip would have been used to attach the pocket watch too and the T-Bar would go through the button hole of a waistcoat to secure in place.
Today these are often worn as necklaces and the clips can be used to hang a pendant from around the neck.
This is a quality example of an Albert chain which would make a great addition to any collection.

We gladly accept layaway on all items in our shop.
All pieces may be reserved with a 20% non-refundable deposit.
After the deposit is made, you then have 2-4 months to complete the outstanding balance at your own convenience without any pressure from us.
We usually ask items under £250 to be paid within 2 months and any items over £250 to be paid within 3-4 months. But this can be discussed to suit you.
If a layaway is cancelled, the deposit amount is non-refundable. You are only eligible for shop credit if a layaway item is returned.
