Vintage Georgian Style Foiled Flat Cut Garnet Sterling Silver Brooch Pin
Vintage Georgian Style Foiled Flat Cut Garnet Sterling Silver Brooch Pin
This beautiful Vintage Georgian Style flat cut Garnet Brooch is modelled in Sterling Silver set with nine Garnets.
This brooch is fully hallmarked for London 1956, made in the Georgian style. The gemstones are flat cut and foiled back, just like they were in the Georgian era. The Silver work has also been done to look like cut steel, a technique of jewellery making in the early 19th century. The closed back smooth Silver settings also give the appearance of a Georgian piece, but it has been stamped with crisp hallmarks showing the true age.
The Garnet's have a lovely play of colour, deep velvet red with flashes of bright red and fiery orange shining through. Garnet is the birthstone for January and the stone that celebrates the 2nd anniversary of marriage.
This is a quality piece which would make a great addition to any collection.
