This delightful vintage heart padlock pendant is crafted in sterling silver and attributed to renowned American maker Walter Lampl, active in New York from 1921 to 1959. His signature-script initials "WL" within a shield outline, often accompanied by “STERLING”.
A wonderful example of early 20th-century design, this padlock features a clever hidden mechanism that sets it apart. The top loop (curved bail) is actually a hinged clasp - one side fixed, the other spring-loaded. Gently pressing a discreet release point along the edge allows the loop to swing open. A delicate spring mechanism ensures it snaps shut securely.
These padlocks are now sought after by collectors for their refined craftsmanship and enduring appeal. Surviving examples in working condition, like this one, are increasingly rare and make a truly special addition to any vintage jewellery collection.

All pieces may be reserved with a 20% non-refundable deposit.
After the deposit is made, you then have 2-4 months to complete the outstanding balance at your own convenience without any pressure from us.
We usually ask items under £250 to be paid within 2 months and any items over £250 to be paid within 3-4 months. But this can be discussed to suit you.
If a layaway is cancelled, the deposit amount is non-refundable. You are only eligible for shop credit if a layaway item is returned.
